“I would highly recommend Ozark Media Solutions to anyone who needs a proffesional top quality website, no matter what the complexity. They were a real pleasure to work with on the design of our company’s website. They were very knowlegable and helpful with different ideas to make our site the most effective it could be. I am extremely pleased with how it turned out, and the process of getting there was a breeze.   I would put our site up against any of our competitor’s, and I would also feel safe to say that it was probably done much more cost effectively. Thanks for all your help!”

So you’re considering a website for your business, that’s great!  In today’s world, your business needs to gain the most exposure it can to compete successfully.  We have compiled a list of the most commonly asked questions. If you have a question that’s not listed here, please don’t hesitate to give us a call and we’ll help you with any of your concerns.

1. How long will it take and how much will it cost?

2. Will I own my own domain name?

3. What kind of communications should I expect from a designer?

4. Do you design your sites, or are they templates?

5. Where can I see samples of your previous work?

6. What other services do you provide?

7. Do I own the code used to create my website?

8. Do you have a formal process that all projects go through?

9. What is the clients role in the development process?

10. Do I need to provide materials to complete the project?

11. What payment structure is offered for websites?

12. Do I have to host with you?

13. How long has the design firm been in business?

1. How long will it take and how much will it cost?

One of the most prevalent problems in working with a website designer is knowing when your project will be completed and what the final cost will be. The most common thing we hear is "The company that was working on our website continued to tell us it was going to take more time and therefore the cost continued to increase". At OMS this will never happen. Before we start any job, you will know when the project will be completed and exactly how much it will cost. We work on a "Fixed" rate system, not an hourly rate (there are never any hidden charges).  Before selecting a designer, insist that they give you a fixed rate quote of the cost, and exactly when your project will be finished in writing.  Anything less is always unacceptable.

2. Will I own my domain name?

You ABSOLUTELY should own your domain name!  We so often hear about design company’s registering your domain name under their name in order to “control” your options.  This is very wrong and should never be allowed!  What this means is, that your website is not your property, but instead the property of the registrant. Additionally some design company’s will purchase your domain for you and charge you an exorbitant price for doing so.  Anyone can purchase a domain name starting at just $9.99 per year.  If you purchase your domain from us directly, it will be registered under your name with no price mark up, period!

3. What kind of communications should I expect from a designer?

One of the biggest complaints we hear is “the company never returns our calls & getting answers to our questions is all but impossible.”  This should be a no-brainer, communications though out the design process is paramount... anything less is unacceptable.  Common sense tells us that a designer that doesn’t return your calls or e-mails in a timely fashion, doesn’t value or appreciate your business enough to keep you informed, and is probably avoiding you because they don’t have the proper answers to your questions.

4. Do you design your sites, or are they templates?

We offer both unique custom designs as well as our own Quick Designs.  Most companies need a custom website that incorporate features unique to their business.  However in many cases, the use of one of our Quick Designs can be an excellent way to have a great looking site and save money in the design process.  The one thing to look out for when talking with a designer is… are they charging you a rate that reflects a custom design, while using a template.    If you want a template site, that’s fine, there’s nothing wrong with that, and it’s a great way to keep your cost down.  But you shouldn’t be charged a rate that would apply to a custom site!    Back to top...

5. Where can I see samples of your previous work?

You can check out samples of our work on our portfolio page. We keep this page updated often so you can see a variety of our past work. References are available upon request.   Back to top...

6. What other services do you provide?

We'll take you through the process of developing your website from start to finish, including helping you acquire your domain name, development, hosting, E-mail setup and maintenance.  In addition, OMS also offers traditional graphic design services in a variety of formats to complement our web and multimedia services.   This enables OMS to offer clients comprehensive brand management that integrates all marketing media around a unified image. 7. Do I own the code used to create my website?

Absolutely, once finale payment is received you will receive your website on a CD.   Back to top...

8. Do you have a formal process that all projects go through?

Yes, we do. Our process has evolved through years of experience with dozens of diverse web projects. Our process borrows principles from project management for software development and marketing production. Each project at its inception has phases, deliverables, tasks and timelines defined. Each phase works to refine a deliverable that will be presented to the client for approval before commencement of the next phase.

9. What is the clients role in the development process?

We strive to work with our clients as a seamless team. Our process is flexible enough to let you determine what level of involvement you want. Some clients want heavy, daily involvement in particular aspects of development, others want to let us handle everything. Your input on the project will be defined at the beginning of the project, based on your project needs and your preferences.   Back to top...

10. Do I need to provide materials to complete the project?

Yes. In order to meet the required finish date, we will need any materials you are providing for the site by a predetermined date. If a client does miss a client deliverable deadline, the website delivery date may be delayed.   Back to top...

11. What payment structure is offered for websites?

Sites under $5,000 are usually 50% down to start and 50% at project completion. Larger projects will usually require a smaller percentage down (30% typically), payments at mid-project milestones and a final payment on completion (30%-40% typically).   Back to top...

12. Do I have to host with you?

No. Typically, we recommend that our clients host with us because we have standardized our servers to have all the services that may be needed for development. Over 95% of our clients do host with us. Some clients choose to keep their existing hosting companies and some host onsite. We can work with any scenario.

13. How long has the design firm been in business?

Because your business is very important to you and the last thing you want is some "fly by night" company or some guy that builds websites as a hobby. OMS has been in business since 1996, so when you need any changes made to your sight in the future you can feel confident we'll be right here for you.
